Mandy Jenkinson is joining us again (her third visit to le Rieu) and ventures the first book for us to consider in September:
'My book is Mornings in Jenin by Susan Abulhawa. Since visiting Israel earlier this year, I've become very interested in the Palestinian problem, and this book is a really good and enlightening novel about a Palestinian family and the whole issue. I've also become very pro-Palestinian - so there could be a good discussion to be had!
I'll have a think about a poem and a painting and get back to you soon.
Nothing like a little controversy to stir the pot! And forgive the ad break but that means we only have three places left on this Gathering.
