After a dodgy start . . .

The fact that there's only one washing machine on site is raising some practical difficulties - until such time as I can run water and power to one of the barns to make a communal laundry area. This became slightly contentious for the Harrisons as they'd been travelling for some days before arriving at Le Rieu and were in need of clean clothes. Fortunately, I was able to engineer access and from there we became great pals, so much so that they were kind enough to send a card on their return:

"Dear Guy,

We arrived back in Dover on Friday lunchtime and are already missing the quiet French roads, not to mention the peaceful surroundings of Le Rieu.

We wanted to thank you for making our first holiday to France so special. The location of the gite is unique - no phones, cars, buses, trains, planes - bliss!

The Dairy suited us completely and I haven't stopped talking about it to anyone who is prepared to listen.

I hope your venture is an outstanding success as you deserve it as you have put so much effort into it.

Once again, thank you.

Rita and David, Lincoln

PS Hope you don't mind, I weeded the flower pots ready for the plants.
