Just thought I'd share this with you
Dear Guy,
I have just completed what I believe to be my fiftieth review and feel that now might be an appropriate time to retire. Although my son has given me an iPad which I am still struggling to learn how to use, it more often than not defeats me and refuses to do what I ask!
I must congratulate you on the wonderful way in which the magazine has developed - what changes there have been over the last 10 years!
My own reading group continues to flourissh though sometimes it gets a bit out of hand. There are now ten of us packed into my rather small room, though I originally set the limit at eight. Last month we read The Long Song.
I am writing to you personally to thank you for the wonderful opportunity you gave me when you invited me to review books. I now have a shelf packed with a wide variety of books: many of them I had never heard of until I received the parcels.
With every good wish,
Barbara Graebe
PS At the age of 84, am I your oldest reviewer?
With readers like these one can only say an enormous thank you - without you the magazine wouldn't be what it is.
Guy
